Dontari Poe, Dallas reportedly 'closing in on deal'
The Dallas Cowboys "are closing in on a deal" with free agent defensive tackle Dontari Poe, formerly of the Carolina Panthers, reports NFL Network's Jane Slater.
Poe has proven to be a consistent commodity on the interior, starting 118-of-121 games for the Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and Kansas City Chiefs over eight years in the league. He recorded more sacks in 11 games last season than in the previous two years combined. Poe will be 30 by the start of next season.
Poe recorded 4.0 sacks, 7.0 tackles for loss, 6 quarterback hits, and 7 pressures last season. He finished as Pro Football Focus' 32nd-graded interior lineman in 2019.
