Colts intend to keep Jacoby Brissett
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett is expected to remain with the team despite the recent signing of Philip Rivers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Despite being viewed as a back up behind Rivers, the Colts still value Brissett and believe that he is "a special guy" who they want in their locker room. Following the shocking retirement of Andrew Luck, Brissett stepped in and started 15 games for the Colts last season, producing 2,942 yards, 18 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, a 60.9% completion rate and 6.6 yards per attempt. To further solidly their intentions of keeping Brissett, the Colts released Brian Hoyer on Saturday.
Brissett registered a pass success rate of 45.67% last season, slightly below the league average of 46.68%. His NEP per pass of .10 ranked 18th among all quarterbacks with at least 300 drop backs.
