Former Buffalo Bills defensive back Kevin Johnson has signed on with the Cleveland Browns on a one-year deal worth $3.5 million.
Johnson is coming off a year in which he played 16 games, just the first time he's done that since his rookie season in 2015. The former Houston Texan spent his age-27 season up north in Buffalo and picked up 24 tackles, one sack and five pass defenses as part of the No. 6 team defense in DVOA, per Football Outsiders.
Johnson joins a Browns secondary that was league-average a year ago, ranking 16th in the league with a 6.1 average net yards per attempt allowed. Johnson himself allowed a 59.1 completion percentage in coverage last season.
