Matt Breida gets second-round tender from 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent running back Matt Breida, reports Dianna Russini of ESPN.
The tender is worth $3.259 million. Breida had two 100-yard rushing games over the 49ers' first four games, but his ankles couldn't hold up down the stretch and he wound up not even touching the ball in the Super Bow Loss. The 49ers are currently set to open 2020 with a backfield consisting of Breida, Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, Jerick McKinnon, and perhaps Jeff Wilson.
Breida averaged 7.82 FanDuel points and 57.2 yards from scrimmage with 2 touchdowns over 13 games last season. He was just below league average in added Net Expected Points per rush (-0.03) and success rate (40.24).
