Jerick McKinnon reportedly restructures contract with 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers and running back Jerick McKinnon have agreed to a restructured contract for 2020, reports Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Due to a torn ACL and failed rehab, McKinnon has yet to play for the 49ers in the regular season since signing a 4-year, $30-million contract in 2018. He benefits from playing in one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL under head coach Kyle Shanahan, but the roster is overflowing with nearly a half dozen capable backs. McKinnon will turn 28 in May.
In McKinnon's last healthy season in 2017, he finished second-to-last in Rushing Net Expected Points per play among the 34 running backs with at least 150 carries that season.
