Tom Brady announces he's leaving Patriots
Free agent quarterback Tom Brady announced that he won't return to the New England Patriots next season.
"I don’t know what my football future holds but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career," Brady announced via Instagram. Arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, Brady has spent all 20 years of his career in New England. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers are considered the favorites to sign Brady. The Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders have also been mentioned as possible destinations.
Brady averaged 253.6 passing yards, 1.50 touchdowns, and 16.98 FanDuel points per game last season. His 3.9 touchdown percentage was a career-low while his completion percentage (60.8) and adjusted yards per pass attempt (6.8) were both below Brady's career averages for the first time since 2013. Furthermore, Brady only added .07 expected points per play to the Patriots last season, his lowest mark since 2003.
