DeAndre Hopkins reportedly traded from Texans to Cardinals
The Houston Texans are trading wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Cardinals are acquiring Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round selection from the Houston Texans in exchange for running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-rounder. The deal is a boon for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals' offense, though it could limit looks for the likes of Christian Kirk, Andy Isabella, and Larry Fitzgerald. Hopkins is only entering his age-28 season.
Hopkins averaged 14.5 FanDuel points in 15 games last season, sixth-most among all wideouts. He recorded 77.7 yards on 6.9 catches a game with 7 touchdowns. Hopkins' arrival should lead to more shots down the field from Kyler Murray, who was 16th in the NFL in air yards (3,986) as a rookie.
