Carolina Panthers third-round quarterback Will Grier is expected to start Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
This was the expectation after Panthers interim head coach Perry Fewell said he would wait until Wednesday to name a starting quarterback. Kyle Allen racked up 22 turnovers (15 interceptions, 7 fumbles) in 12 games, including 8 giveaways over the last three. Grier underwhelmed in the preseason, completing 34-of-61 passes for 385 yards with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions against sub-par talent.
Grier will be making his NFL debut against a Colts defense that is 21st against the pass (245.4 yards per game). They are allowing 18.1 FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks.
