Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is being evaluated for a shoulder injury and will be limited to start the week, head coach Mike Tomlin said.
Conner suffered the injury at the end of Monday night's win over the Miami Dolphins after the outcome had already been decided. Tomlin isn't ruling Conner out for Sunday's Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Jaylen Samuels has recovered from his knee injury and will be in an every-down role if Conner isn't available. Benny Snell suffered a knee injury on Monday.
Conner is averaging 15.7 FP per game this season. He has 380 rushing yards (3.9 YPC), 236 receiving yards, 29 receptions, and 6 touchdowns. The Colts are tied for fifth-worst in the NFL in yards allowed per carry.
