Mitchell Trubisky to remain under center for Bears against Eagles

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky will start in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Matt Nagy confirmed.

What It Means:

Trubisky went 23-of-35 for 253 yards and an interception in a 17-16, Week 8 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. He also gave up 27 yards on 4 sacks and lost a fumble while turning in another poor effort. Nagy added Monday that he believes Trubisky can still improve his play to an adequate level this season, but there hasn't been much reason for hope. The former number-two pick has been nothing short of awful in his third NFL campaign, which has been marred by countless mistakes, misthrows, and mental errors. Trubisky has failed to throw a touchdown four times in six games and hasn't reached 255 yards in any outing. His 182.0 yards per game and 5.6 yards per attempt are both career-lows. He's also adding just 5.2 yards per game on the ground after averaging at least 20.0 in each of his first two seasons. All that being said, the Bears don't have any incentive to turn things over to 33-year-old Chase Daniel.

failing to throw for 255 yards in any game at a career-low 5.6 yards per attempt. That doesn't even account for the plethora of mistakes, misthrows, and mental errors. He
