Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is hopeful he will play in Thursday's Week 8 game against the Washington Redskins.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Thielen is "improving fast" and has "a chance" to play Thursday. As of Monday, Thielen was reportedly targeting a Week 9 return, so this is a bit more optimistic. It would be a surprise if he suits up for a game the Vikings are favored by 16.0 points at home. Seventh-round rookie Bisi Johnson is expected to start in two-wide sets if Thielen sits.
Thielen is averaging 13.5 FanDuel points per game this season. He has 27 receptions for 391 yards (14.5 per catch) and 6 touchdowns on 40 targets.
