Schefter: Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes (knee) could return in three weeks for fewer
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes may not be sidelined for a prolonged period of time, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Per Schefter, Mahomes "could return in three weeks, if not sooner," which is great news for the Chiefs. He was able to avoid a serious injury on Thursday, as a dislocated kneecap was something of a best case scenario for the young passer. In the meantime, Matt Moore will handle starting quarterbacking duties, but Mahomes could make his way back on the field in the blink of an eye.
In six-plus games this season, Mahomes has completed 157 of his 241 pass attempts for 2,180 yards, 15 touchdowns and just one interception.
