Chad Henne (ankle) reportedly close to a return for Kansas City
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chad Henne is "getting close" to a return from a broken ankle, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher.
Henne was Patrick Mahomes' backup throughout training camp before breaking his ankle and going on injured reserve, leaving the Chiefs to pick up Matt Moore to be the No. 2 option. Now with Mahomes sidelined for at least three weeks or so, Kansas City could look to bring back Henne to start once he's eligible to return from IR.
In his last stint as a starting quarterback (2013-14 with Jacksonville), Henne completed 305-of-503 attempts for 3,241 yards and 13 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
