Washington Redskins running back Chris Thompson (toe) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.
Things are pointing toward Thompson sitting out Sunday's tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers due to a case of turf toe. Wendell Smallwood would likely slip into Washington's pass-catching role behind Adrian Peterson if that's the case.
Thompson has 27 catches for 276 yards on 38 targets this season, with 23 carries for an additional 79 yards.
