Bears' Akiem Hicks (elbow) placed on injured reserve
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Akiem Hicks has been placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury Tuesday, clearing room on the team's 53-man roster.
Hicks is headed to the IR, but he will be eligible to return in eight weeks. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Hicks is expected to make his return in Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers, though that's a long ways away. The biggest positive for Hicks is that he was able to avoid surgery.
In three-plus games this season, Hicks has six tackles and a sack.
