Cam Newton aggravates foot injury, could miss Week 3 for Panthers

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's (foot) status for Week 3 versus the Arizona Cardinals is uncertain, per NFL Network.

What It Means:

Newton reportedly aggravated the foot injury he initially suffered in the preseason. He will likely rehab throughout the week to try and heal in time for Sunday, but it sounds like there's a decent chance he sits. Kyle Allen backed up Newton in the first two games while third-round pick Will Grier has been a healthy scratch.

Newton has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 572 yards (6.4 per attempt) with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception while rushing just 5 times for -2 yards. If he plays, Newton is currently the QB10 in numberFire's Week 3 fantasy rankings.
