Royce Freeman in timeshare as Broncos lose to Raiders
Denver Broncos running back Royce Freeman rushed 10 times for 56 yards and caught a pass for 5 yards in a 24-16, Week 1 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Monday.
What It Means:
Freeman saw just one fewer rushing attempt than Lindsay, but was far more efficient, averaging an impressive 5.6 yards per carry, compared to 3.9 for his counterpart. The Broncos said during the offseason they wanted to have a split backfield, and they stuck to that in the opener. Expect more of the same in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears.
