Vontaze Burfict

Vontaze Burfict suspended first three weeks of 2016 for Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been suspended by the NFL for three games for repeated violations of player-safety rules.

What It Means:

He was reckless in the Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, first sacking Ben Roethlisberger and then driving his knee into Big Ben's injured shoulder after the play before later leveling Antonio Brown across the middle on the final drive in the fourth quarter. Brown was concussed on the play and is in doubt for Week 19.

Burfict recorded 57 tackles, one sack and two picks this year for a Cincinnati defense which finished 10th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
