Panthers plan to limit Christian McCaffrey's plays, not touches
Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the team plans to limit running bak Christian McCaffrey's plays but not his touches.
“The goal is to cut down on his plays, but we’re not going to take away his touches,” Rivera said, adding, "there’s no reason for him to be a decoy or be a swing guy." McCaffrey played over 91% of the team's snaps in 2018, per Football Outsiders, leading all running backs by a wide margin.
Our models project him to rush 224.1 times for 1,176.2 yards and 7.66 touchdowns, with 102.5 receptions for 879.1 yards and 5.83 touchdowns this season.
