Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is holding out in Cabo, Mexico, reports Kevin Turner of 105.3 The Fan.
The Cowboys hold training camp in Oxnard, California, which is a short flight from Cabo, so Elliott intends to train independently while his representative's attempt to work out a new deal. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones downplayed the importance of a "rushing champion" in a recent interview, potentially indicating the team intends to stand their ground in contract negotiations. Elliott has two years remaining on his rookie deal.
Assuming Zeke plays a full season, he is the RB2 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to rush 326.5 times for 1,518.8 yards and 11.85 touchdowns, with 77.9 receptions for 548.4 yards and 2.79 touchdowns in 2019.
