Melvin Gordon officially holding out from Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is not reporting for the start of training camp Wednesday, per multiple reports.
Gordon is officially a holdout, as expected. He's now subject to daily fines for skipping practice and has threatened to hold out into the regular season if a new deal isn't reached. The 26-year-old back is scheduled to receive $5.6 million in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal. Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler are splitting running back duties for now.
Operating under the assumption Gordon plays a full season, numberFire's models believe he will record 1,107.5 rushing yards, 573.8 receiving yards, and 14.09 touchdowns. He's currently the RB5 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
