Patriots' Tom Brady has high ankle sprain

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has a high ankle sprain, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.

What It Means:

ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported Brady had an ankle sprain and bruised ribs. The "high" part of the sprain is new. It sounds like a relatively non-severe sprain which Brady should be able to play through with a week of rest brought on by New England's first-round playoff bye. Either way, it's an injury that we'll be tracking closely for the next two weeks.

Brady turned in another fabulous season in 2015, even with several key pieces missing time. Among passers with at least 100 drop backs, he finished fourth in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back. Entering his age-39 season next fall, Brady doesn't look close to being done.
