Unlikely that Julian Edelman plays for Patriots Week 17
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (foot) is unlikely to play Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins, according to Tom Curran of CSN New England.
Edelman has been able to practice since Week 14, but it appears the team will hold him out until the postseason. Fellow wide receiver Danny Amendola was limited in practice Wednesday, but his status is also unclear. If neither goes, that would be a boost for Keshawn Martin.
With both Edelman and Amendola out in Week 16, Martin saw 11 targets. The Dolphins rank 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play, meaning the Patriots could post solid passing numbers in the game. If Martin finds himself as the top slot option, he's an intriguing play in daily leagues for Week 17.
