New England Patriots tight end Matt LaCosse is in line to be the starting tight end for Week 1 of the 2019 season.
After the Patriots released Austin Seferian-Jenkins on Tuesday, LaCosse is next in line to replace Ben Watson who is serving a four-game suspension to start the season. The Patriots have a hole at tight end following the retirement of Rob Gronkowski this offseason.
LaCosse caught 24 passes for 250 yards and 1 touchdown on 37 targets for the Denver Broncos in 2018.
