Cardinals' Andre Ellington will not play on Sunday night
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington (toe) "will not play" Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Ellington returned to practice Friday after missing the previous two games with turf toe, but he's not ready for game action. Turf toe is very painful and has been known to end seasons. With Ellington still out, it keeps David Johnson locked into high-end fantasy status with 25-touch upside. Stepfan Taylor and Kerwynn Williams will back Johnson up and play minimal snaps.
On 57 opportunities this year, Ellington has accrued 16.99 Total Net Expected Points (NEP). His Total NEP per play (0.30) ranks fifth among the 68 running backs with at least 55 opportunities through Week 12. Johnson ranks first in this metric (0.37).
