Kansas City's Justin Houston has a hyperextended knee

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston has a hyperextended knee, a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews confirmed.

What It Means:

"I don't want anybody to be alarmed that he saw Dr. Andrews," Chiefs' athletic trainer Rick Burkholder said. "We knew it, we're good with it." Burkholder added the swelling in Houston's knee has gone down. There were reports Houston could miss the rest of the season, but those appear to be unfounded. Dee Ford will continue to start while Houston is out of the lineup.

Through Week 14, the Chiefs defense ranks fourth in the NFL in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play. Houston has 7.5 sacks, two picks and a forced fumble this season. He amassed 22 sacks a year ago.
