Haloti Ngata announces retirement after 13 seasons
Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Haloti Ngata announced his retirement from the National Football League after 13 seasons.
Ngata was selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Baltimore Ravens. During his nine seasons in Baltimore, Ngata earned back-to-back First-Team All-Pro honors and was a five-time Pro Bowl selection, as well as a Super Bowl champion in 2012. He then went on to play three years with the Detroit Lions before closing things out with the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Ngata turned 35 in January.
Ngata recorded 489 tackles (165 solo) with 32.5 sacks, 37 pass deflections, 7 fumbles forced, 5 fumbles recovered, and 1 defensive touchdown over 180 games.
