Cowboys' Jason Witten will end retirement and return for 16th season
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten will end his retirement and return in 2019.
After only one season in the broadcast booth, Witten has decided to end his retirement and return to play his 16th season. "The fire inside of me to compete and play this game is just burning too strong," said Witten in a statement. "This team has a great group of rising young stars, and I want to help them make a run at a championship."
Expect the veteran tight end to see major playing time and resume his role as a safety blanket for Dak Prescott. In his last active season, Witten hauled in 63 receptions for 560 yards and 5 receiving touchdowns.
