Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz "is the quarterback going forward," head coach Doug Pederson stated.
There was some rumblings that the Eagles would commit to Nick Foles following a late-season surge, but Wentz is the superior talent, as well as a younger option who projects to be cheaper on the books over the next couple seasons. The main question will be whether or not the 26-year-old can stay healthy after missing 17 combined games over the past two seasons.
Wentz averaged 279.5 passing yards (7.7 yards per attempt) on a 69.6 completion percentage this season, with 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions over 11 games.
