Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston just needs to be a "little bit smarter," new head coach Bruce Arians said.
"No pressure. No pressure whatsoever," Arians said of his expectations for his new quarterback. "I want him to relax and play the game. Talent is no issue. It’s just becoming a little bit smarter." The 66-year-old coach came out of "retirement" to coach Winston, so one is led to believe he has some faith in the 25-year-old quarterback. Winston has 76 career turnovers (58 interceptions, 18 lost fumbles) over 67 games.
Jameis threw for 2,992 yards (7.9 yards per attempt) on a 64.6 completion percentage with 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions over 11 games (nine starts) in 2018. He also rushed for 281 yards and a touchdown.
