Saints expected to try to sign free agent Brandon Marshall
The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign former Seattle Seahawks wideout Brandon Marshall, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Saints obviously have a type. They signed big-bodied veteran Dez Bryant earlier this week, but he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in his first practice back with the team. Marshall was released by the Seahawks after racking up 11 receptions, 136 yards and 1 touchdown on 23 targets to start the year.
Marshall has not eclipsed 60 receptions, 800 yards receiving or 3 touchdowns since the 2015 season. Among the 106 receivers with at least 20 targets in 2018, he ranks only 78th in numberFire's Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target metric.
