Cam Newton, Panthers stifled by Steelers in embarrassing loss
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton completed 23-of-29 passes for 193 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in a 52-21, Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday.
Newton also rushed just 2 times for 10 yards, both being season-lows. The Panthers scored on the opening drive but after the Steelers responded with a score on their first play from scrimmage, Newton chucked up an atrocious throw while trying to avoid a safety that turned into a pick-six. The wheels pretty much fell off after that. Newton's 79.3 completion percentage is a new season-high but he's now failed to throw for over 200 yards three times on the year. The Panthers visit the Detroit Lions in Week 11.
Cam scored 15.7 FanDuel points on Thursday, a bit off from numberFire's Week 10 projection (22.0). He's averaging 231.8 passing yards per game on a career-high 68.5 completion percentage with 17 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Newton also has 75 carries for 352 yards and 4 touchdowns.
