Denver's C.J. Anderson totals 113 yards, two touchdowns

Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson had 15 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 12 win over the New England Patriots.

What It Means:

He added four catches for 40 yards. Anderson showed flashes of his 2014 form with a nice jump-cut on his first touchdown. He won the game on a 48-yard overtime touchdown, giving the Patriots their first loss. Anderson didn't start but played more snaps than Ronnie Hillman. This was a breakout performance for 2015, but Anderson has been coming on of late. He's averaging 5.9 yards per carry on 36 attempts over the last four weeks.

Anderson dug himself quite a hole with his horrid start, but he's starting to climb out of it. Among the 37 backs with at least 80 carries, he entered the week ranked 34th in Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry. That'll improve after this outing. He turned his 15 carries into a pristine 7.31 Rushing NEP in the win over New England, which is the best performance of any running back in Week 12. He also added 2.76 Reception NEP on his four targets. In Week 13, Denver takes on the San Diego Chargers, who rank dead last in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per carry.
