Carson Palmer throws for 271 yards as Cardinals survive

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer completed 24-of-40 passes for 271 yards and rushed for a seven-yard score in the Cardinals' Week 12 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

What It Means:

The final stat line looks okay, but Palmer did not play particularly well. Still, Palmer led the offense on a 14-play, 85-yard drive he capped off with a seven-yard touchdown run to win the game.

Palmer is having an MVP caliber season. He entered the week ranked first in Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back among signal callers with at least 100 drop backs. It was tough sledding in this one, though, as he racked up just 7.70 Passing NEP against a 49ers' defense which entered the week ranked 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per drop back.
