Jaguars reportedly acquire Carlos Hyde from Browns for fifth-round pick

The Jacksonville Jaguars are acquiring running back Carlos Hyde from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth-round pick, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

What It Means:

The Jaguars' offense has sputtered in recent weeks, so Hyde should provide an upgrade to the backfield until Leonard Fournette returns. It's a sharp downgrade for T.J. Yeldon's outlook, while Duke Johnson and Nick Chubb stand to benefit greatly in Cleveland. Chubb is the obvious favorite to take over early-down work in Week 7 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hyde averaged 12.4 FanDuel points in six games for the Browns, with 114 carries for 382 yards and 5 touchdowns, and another 6 catches for 29 yards on 10 targets.
