Devonta Freeman (groin, injured reserve) could return for Falcons
Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (groin, IR) is a candidate to return this season, head coach Dan Quinn said.
Freeman underwent successful groin surgery Thursday morning and he will first be eligible to return in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons' playoff chances at that time will likely determine whether or not Freeman plays again this season. Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith will take care of the backfield in the meantime.
Freeman averaged 5.8 FanDuel points in his two appearances this season, with 14 carries for 68 yards and 5 catches for 23 yards on 7 targets.
