Raheem Mostert may not be 49ers No. 2 running going forward

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert may not be the team's "permanent" backup running back, coach Kyle Shanahan said.

What It Means:

He played over Alfred Morris, who did not get a single touch against Green Bay on Monday. Mostert ran for 87 yards on 12 carries, just two fewer than Matt Brieda. However, Shanahan said Mostert over Morris is not permanent, but worked because Mostert was running well.

Mostert now has 98 yards on 18 carries, while Morris has rushed for 228 on 62 attempts.
