Packers will not commit to giving Aaron Jones a larger workload
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that he would "love" to increase Aaron Jones' workload, but added "there's more to the position than just running the football."
Jones has averaged 8.0 carries per game compared to 10.6 for Jamaal Williams this year, despite the fact that Jones is averaging 6.1 yards per rush, while Williams is at just 3.7. McCarthy's comments seem to imply pass blocking is one of the reasons Jones has not gotten as much action.
Last year, Jones also got fewer carries than Williams despite the fact that he was the more efficient runner. He averaged 5.5 yards per rush on 81 carries (6.8 per game), while Williams averaged 3.6 on 153 runs (9.6 per game).
