Bankroll Management for Low-Volume Daily Fantasy Football Players
My first foray into daily fantasy sports came while I was in college. This was when my work-study job was at a gym folding towels and trying not to vomit as I walked past my professors in the locker room. Needless to say, cash was not something with which I was flush.
As such, I knew that I wasn't going to fall under the category of a high roller. I'd only be playing low-cost games, and I wasn't going to be playing more than one or two games per night.
However, whenever I read a piece about bankroll management, they seemed to be tailored toward those who planned on playing a heavy volume on a regular basis. That wasn't me, so I really didn't know how I was supposed to manage my bankroll. I kind of had to use what the experts were saying and try to mold it into my low-volume style of play.
I want to go through a few of the strategies I used in an attempt not to expose myself to unnecessary risk. This -- by no means -- is a strategy that will cater to everyone. You'll eventually develop your own preferences for game type and how much you want to spend each night or week. This can just be used as a jumping-off point if you don't know where to begin.
