3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 4

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Jared Goff, Lions

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 45%

Jared Goff is once again in a fun spot for fantasy.

The Detroit Lions are hosting the Seattle Seahawks in a game with a 50.0-point total. It should be one of the best fantasy environments of the week.

Goff has been good this season in a Lions offense that has been much better than most anticipated. For the year, he's the QB11, and he can push for QB1 (top-12) numbers in this spot. We project him to score 17.1 fantasy points and rank him as the week's QB11.

He's the top streaming option for Week 4.

Geno Smith, Seahawks

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 9%

On the flip side of the Lions-Seahawks game, Geno Smith is also on the streaming radar.

Detroit has been a dream matchup in fantasy in 2022. Their defense isn't very good, so opponents score plenty of points, but the Lions' offense is good enough to keep pace, forcing the opposition's offense to keep its foot on the gas. It's resulted in Detroit permitting the second-most fantasy points per game to signal-callers (23.6).

Smith has put up at least 17.2 fantasy points in two of his three games. He has a good shot to produce another quality outing in this one.

We peg him to score 15.3 points and slot him as the QB20, but I think there's room for more in this spot.

Mitch Trubisky, Steelers

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 6%

I had a tough time choosing between Mitchell Trubisky and Jameis Winston (42% rostered; vs. Minnesota Vikings) for this last one but opted for Trubisky due to his running ability.

Through three games with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Trubisky has more or less been what you were probably expecting. He's generated between 11.4 and 15.0 fantasy points each week as a meh QB2 option.

He has a dream matchup this week, though, as the Steelers host the New York Jets. Gang Green has surrendered the 12th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (19.6), and they just helped a misfiring Cincinnati Bengals attack get back on track.

With top-notch playmakers at wideout and some juice as a runner, Trubisky is a fine play this week. We have him scoring 16.3 points, making him our QB14.
