The Addiction: Daily Fantasy Week 17

We like the high-priced must-haves, but don't sleep on Jordan Shipley, either.

Whether you're still alive in your fantasy league or just watching from the sidelines, your Sunday routine doesn't have to end. Daily fantasy games are quickly becoming a part of the mainstream gaming experience, and if you haven't yet given them a try, you're missing out on some serious fun. After all, how many years have you been out of it by Week 7 due to a crappy draft? In daily fantasy, the entire season is in a week; next week, it starts all over again, and you're not saddled with the pain of drafting Maurice Jones-Drew.

If you didn't see our article last week, did well once again with the low-priced duo of Darren Sproles and Vick Ballard going off, and we're back again for more.

This Week's Lineup

One of the great things about being the CEO Content Editor of a company like numberFire is that I've got a trove containing 35,000 lines of code to help me in situations like this. You do as well! Here is our algorithmically generated optimal roster.

  • QB: Aaron Rodgers - $14400/25.75
  • QB: Peyton Manning - $14100/23.43
  • RB: Adrian Peterson - $14000/24.67
  • RB: Arian Foster - $13300/22.61
  • WR: Calvin Johnson - $14400/23.43
  • WR: Eric Decker - $11600/16.22
  • TE: Antonio Gates - $8200/12.08
  • FLEX: Jordan Shipley - $5000/9.78
  • FLEX: TJ Graham - $5000/8.67

It's all about the strength at the top this week - the big ticket guys like Rodgers, Manning, Peterson, and Megatron were must-haves on our list. This week, we project close to 100 StarStreet fantasy points between them, and good luck trying to find a combination of four people with points that high elsewhere.

We balance that out with a few $5000 players in our flex spots, but both guys who can have big weeks. With Cecil Shorts The ThirdTM out for today's game, Jordan Shipley becomes the No. 2 target for the gunslinger (no, seriously) Chad Henne. And TJ Graham, on this list for the second time in two weeks, goes against a Jets defense that could allow some big games in the Buffalo passing game.
