3 Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Options for Week 7

Ricky Seals-Jones has played nearly every snap for Washington the past two weeks, but he is rostered in less than 30% of leagues at the moment. Where else can you find tight end help entering Week 7?

The story of the tight end position is a tale similar to every sports offseason. There's annual optimism in advance of the season. Yet, optimism turns into reality without fail, and every team isn't playing for a championship. Or, in the case of tight ends, the many mid- and late-round breakout candidates fail to materialize into weekly contributors.

Some gamers understand this reality and pounce on an early-round stud. Others recognize it and intend on streaming out of the chute. Still, others arrive in the streaming group unwittingly after their middle-tier or late-round dart throw flops.

Regardless of how you got here, this is your weekly home for streaming options. Below you'll find three widely available options for Week 7.

Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington Football Team

Yahoo! Roster Percentage: 29%

Ricky Seals-Jones delivered as a streamer for the Washington Football Team last week, and he's my favorite option this week. According to Pro Football Focus, since stepping in as a starter in Week 5, Seals-Jones ranks third in routes (78). In addition, the Football Team is using him as a jumbo slot, aligning him there on 60.2 percent of his passing snaps.

The usage has produced results, too. According to StatHead, there are 58 instances in 2021 of a tight end netting six or more targets, four or more receptions, and 40 or more receiving yards, and Seals-Jones has done so in both of his starts. After hauling in five of nine targets for 41 scoreless yards in Week 5, Seals-Jones cranked it up a notch in Week 6, reeling in four of six targets for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Logan Thomas remains out, so Seals-Jones remains a viable starter in leagues as shallow as 10-team formats. Therefore, let me reiterate, he's my favorite tight end streamer this week.

Mo Alie-Cox, Indianapolis Colts

Yahoo! Roster Percentage: 8%

Unfortunately, the pickings are slim behind Seals-Jones. Options I've previously touted are on too many rosters for inclusion or guys like Tyler Conklin and Dan Arnold who check the requisite boxes for consideration, but they are on a bye. Therefore, the remaining options primarily fit the touchdown-or-bust profile.

In fairness, Mo Alie-Cox hauled in three of four targets for 50 yards in Week 5, so he's probably a pinch above a touchdown-or-bust option. However, a friendly description of his usage would be sporadic at best. He ranks outside the top-40 tight ends in routes (85), has tallied more than three targets only two times in 2021, and has caught two or fewer passes in four of six games. Thankfully, he's been targeted on a healthy 31.6 percent of his routes the last three weeks.

During those three games, Alie-Cox has caught seven passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Thus, there's a reason for optimism he might earn a larger role in the Indianapolis Colts' offense. However, until that comes to fruition, there's a risk that's wish casting. The gigantic tight end's floor is low. Still, if you're desperate for a streamer, he's one of the best of a bad lot this week.

C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals

Yahoo! Roster Percentage: 6%

C.J. Uzomah is another low-floor option. However, he's something of the anti-Alie-Cox. The Cincinnati Bengals' offense is chock full of top-flight pass-catching options. As a result, they're not designing many meaningful targets for Uzomah. However, he's out there running many routes.

The 28-year-old tight end ranks inside the top-15 tight ends with 151 routes this year. Unfortunately, according to Pro Football Focus, out of 49 tight ends targeted at least 10 times, Uzomah ranks outside the top-30 with an underwhelming 1.09 yards per route run. Still, simply being out there running routes awards him a chance to benefit from a busted coverage or garner a target from Joe Burrow. Uzomah is a shallow depth-of-target option with a 4.8-yard aDoT, per Pro Football Focus.

In addition, Cincinnati's produced their three most productive passing games in the last three weeks. And, the timing couldn't be better for the passing attack rounding into form, as NFL odds lists the Bengals as 6.5-point underdogs against the white-hot Baltimore Ravens. The high tide of an improving passing game can raise all ships -- Uzomah included. So, if you're in need of tight end help this week, consider Uzomah a viable dart throw.
