3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 12

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Russell Wilson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Derek Carr, Raiders

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 36%

Derek Carr had a nice game last Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, finishing with 275 yards and three scores on his way to 21.6 fantasy points. He has a great chance to keep it rolling this week as he gets the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta has been a pass-funnel defense all year long, allowing the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (25.9). Our schedule-adjusted metrics rank Atlanta as the league's worst pass defense while they're actually the sixth-best run D. That's perfect for Carr. While he's been a solid real-life signal-caller in 2020, Carr's fantasy upside has been capped by the Las Vegas Raiders having the sixth-lowest pass rate.

In a game in which Vegas should have to go to the air, Carr is this week's QB6, per our model. We project him for 19.96 fantasy points, and he's a fantastic streamer.

Daniel Jones, Giants

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 28%

Fresh off a bye, Daniel Jones and the New York Giants hit the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The matchup is delicious as our metrics have the Bengals with the fifth-worst overall D as well as the seventh-worst pass defense.

Jones has been decent lately in fantasy. He's posted at least 12.88 fantasy points in five straight games, but he's got a high of only 22.16 points in that span. He's been aided by his rushing ability, running for at least 64 yards in three of those five outings, with another game of 20 rushing yards.

If you can't get Carr, Jones is a quality fall-back option. We project him for 17.63 fantasy points, making him our QB12.

Baker Mayfield, Browns

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 31%

OK, so this is the third straight week I've plugged Baker Mayfield as a streamer. The first two resulted in 5.38 and 7.06 fantasy points. Yay.

But Mayfield had to deal with some pretty awful weather conditions in both -- wind in Week 10 and rain in Week 11. And he gets a plum matchup this week versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team surrendering the third-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (22.3). The Jags rank in the bottom 10 in overall defense, run defense, and pass D, per our numbers.

The worry with Mayfield is Cleveland's league-low 47.88% pass rate. That's definitely a concern here, too, as the Browns could run all over Jacksonville. But the hope if you use Mayfield this week is that he -- not Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt -- gets the touchdowns.

We project Mayfield for 16.47 fantasy points, and he's our QB18 for the week.
