Jerry Jeudy Can Be a Difference Maker for the Denver Broncos

With the 15th pick in the NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

What kind of prospect is Jeudy, and what will he do in fantasy football in 2020?

Jeudy's Background

A five-star recruit coming out of high school, Jeudy played sparingly in 2017 as a true freshman before bursting onto the scene as a sophomore.

A prolific producer from a young age, Jeudy posted back-to-back 1,100-plus yard seasons with at least 10 touchdowns in each. More importantly, Jeudy produced all over the field. In 2019, he recorded nine deep catches and 53 explosive plays of 15-plus yards when he earned at least a step of separation.

Checking in on the smaller side, Jeudy stands 6'1" and weighs 193 pounds. However, he mitigated some of the size concerns with a 4.45 40-yard dash. From a pure production standpoint, his 19.4 breakout age and 17.2 yards per reception rank in elite territory, above the 80th percentile.

Despite all of the positive accolades, one potential red flag remains on Jeudy's profile. After undergoing a meniscus trim in 2018, some doctors have raised concerns about the long-term health of Jeudy's knee. However, Jeudy has required no maintenance in two years since the procedure occurred.

What to Expect

Despite the size concerns, multiple smaller prospects have produced immediately out of college in recent seasons. With elite route running and separation skills, Jeudy should contribute immediately in the NFL.

Landing with the Broncos, Jeudy steps into immediate opportunity. Joining Courtland Sutton, Jeudy provides the versatility to produce in the slot and out wide for Denver. With one of the shallowest depth charts in the NFL to compete with, Jeudy should contribute immediately as a rookie with Drew Lock tossing him the rock.
