3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 14

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Deshaun Watson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

In Week 13, Nick Foles dropped the ball -- literally and figuratively. Foles was miserable in a delightful matchup versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finishing with -1.98 fantasy points to rank as QB39 for the week. For the season, we've had a QB1 (top-12) outing in eight of 13 weeks, and our per-week average of 15.6 fantasy points is good for the season-long QB17 in points per game among signal callers who have made at least eight starts.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks owned in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo! leagues who are in good spots this week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 11%

Rolling with Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fantasy playoffs feels yucky, but there's a lot to like with him this week.

For starters, Fitzmagic has been playing pretty well lately, going for at least 20.58 fantasy points in four of his past seven games. In that span, his single-game low is 11.30 points, so the floor is fairly respectable.

Secondly, the matchup this week is a good one as the Miami Dolphins are on the road against the New York Jets. Gang Green has the ninth-worst pass D, per our schedule-adjusted metrics, and they may be without stud defensive back Jamal Adams. Plus, the Jets are a pass-funnel defense as they rank first against the run by our metrics.

Fitzpatrick has put up 23.06 and 26.80 fantasy points in his last two games, and he's capable of another big game here. We project him for 15.81 fantasy points, making him our QB20 for the week.

Jacoby Brissett, Colts

Yahoo Ownership: 38%

We've been attacking the Buccaneers all year, and while it didn't go well with Nick Foles last week, we shouldn't hesitate going back to the Bucs in Week 14. Jacoby Brissett and the Indianapolis Colts hit the road to face the Bucs in Week 14.

Brissett gave us a nice fantasy floor early on in the season, scoring at least 16.34 points in each of his first four outings. He's lost his upside since he suffered a knee injury as he's scored 12.66, 13.16 and 15.12 points in his three starts since missing Week 10. That floor is decent, though, on what is a rough week for streamers, and Brissett could tap into his upside in this matchup.

Tampa Bay has allowed the second-most completions, second-most yards and third-most touchdowns to quarterbacks this season -- all of which adds up to the Bucs giving up 21.1 fantasy points per game to the position. The Colts like to run the ball early and often, but against a run defense that ranks second-best by our numbers, Indy should have to lean on Brissett this week.

We rank him as our QB23 and project him to total 15.35 fantasy points.

Gardner Minshew, Jaguars

Yahoo Ownership: 9%

Gardner Minshew is starting once again for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he'll be up against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14. The Bolts are a tough matchup, especially with Derwin James back, but it's slim pickings this week when scanning the list of low-owned passers.

This game is at home for Minshew, which is a plus, and his legs raise both his floor and ceiling. Minshew has run for at least 28 yards in five games this season, including three outings with at least 42 yards. He scored at least 16.12 points in each of the first five weeks and had 23.98 points in Week 8.

We forecast Minshew for 15.85 points this week and rank him as the QB19.
