7 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 14

With most fantasy leagues kicking off their postseason this week, what better time for the Miami Dolphins to become fantasy relevant. You're probably going to struggle to trust Miami after ignoring their roster for most of the season, but with a Week 14 matchup against the New York Jets, suddenly three Dolphins have cracked this week's sleepers list.

For the purposes of this list, we'll limit sleeper selections to any player with less than 75 percent ownership on Yahoo's fantasy football platform. Additionally, I'll select two super-sleepers, with under 10 percent ownership, to help out those of you who may be playing in deeper leagues. All references to betting totals and spreads are from the NCAAF odds.

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Tennessee Titans

Yahoo Ownership: 42 percent

In five of his six starts, Ryan Tannehill has topped 18 fantasy points, demonstrating a consistency Marcus Mariota was never able to provide for the Tennessee Titans. This week, Tannehill's ceiling gets a boost from the struggling Oakland Raiders defense, which has allowed 20 or more fantasy points six times. If this is a close game as expected -- the Titans are favored by three points -- Tannehill should get plenty of opportunities to continue his reliable fantasy output.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 16 percent

Dolphins quarterbacks probably haven't been on your fantasy radar this year, but Ryan Fitzpatrick's recent performances make him worthy of consideration against the Jets. Since retaking the starting job in Week 7, Fitzpatrick is averaging 37.3 attempts per game. Thanks to that volume, he's also averaging 18.8 fantasy points per game in that span and is coming off a season-high 26.8 against the Eagles. A strong 23.7 fantasy points against the Jets earlier this season should also boost your confidence in Fitzmagic.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings

Yahoo Ownership: 48 percent

Dalvin Cook was knocked out of last week's game due to an ankle injury, and his uncertain status for Week 14 gives Alexander Mattison the potential for a breakout game against the Detroit Lions. If Cook can't go, Mattison becomes a must-start in a game in which Minnesota is favored by 13 points. But even if Cook does suit up, Mattison should be on your radar. Due to the Vikings' run-heavy offense, Mattison has received at least seven carries in all but one of the Vikings' victories this season. Given the potential for a blowout and Cook's injury history, it's possible Minnesota attempts to get Mattison involved early in order to keep Cook fresh for the stretch run.

Anthony Miller, WR, Chicago Bears

Yahoo Ownership: 16 percent

Anthony Miller's value is at least partially tied to Taylor Gabriel's availability. Gabriel, who missed last week's game due to a concussion, will sit out again on Thursday, boosting Miller's value. In three games this season without Gabriel on the field, Miller is second on the team with a 22.7 percent target share, trailing only Allen Robinson (27.7 percent). Miller also draws a Dallas Cowboys defense allowing a 69.5 percent completion rate and 8.2 yards per target to slot receivers, according to Sports Info Solutions.

Nelson Agholor, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Yahoo Ownership: 11 percent

Nelson Agholor cracked last week's sleepers list based on a favorable matchup against the Dolphins, who struggle to defend slot receivers. It paid off reasonably well with 9.1 points (PPR scoring), his third-best mark of the season. Based on the same logic, Agholor is worth a look against the New York Giants on Monday night. According to Sports Info Solutions, New York is allowing an NFL-worst 10.5 yards per target to receivers lined up in the slot.

Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 22 percent

Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki has seen an increased role in recent weeks, with at least six targets in five straight games. During that stretch, he's second on the team with a 16.8 percent target share. In addition to a reliable workload, Gesicki offers increased value as one of the few tight ends in the league who sees downfield targets. During this hot five-game stretch, Gesicki leads all tight ends with 16 targets (3.2 per game) at 10 or more yards downfield, per Sports Info Solutions.

Super Sleeper: Patrick Laird, RB, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 6 percent

With Kalen Ballage injured, the Miami backfield now consists of two rookies: undrafted Patrick Laird and seventh-round selection Myles Gaskin. It appears as though Laird is the next man up, as he received 11 touches following Ballage's injury in Week 13, compared to just 3 for Gaskin. The Dolphins may trust Laird more due to his experience as a pass-catcher in college at California. During his final two seasons at Cal, Laird hauled in 96 receptions, including 5 touchdowns. Miami's running backs have 66 receptions this year (5.5 per game), so Laird could have a nice ceiling in PPR leagues this week against the New York Jets.
