3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 13

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Deshaun Watson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

In Week 12, we hit on all three of our choices, with each ranking inside the top-10 signal callers for the week. Sam Darnold, our top pick, netted 28.2 fantasy points to finish as the QB3. For good measure, Ryan Tannehill (32.36, QB2) and Mitchell Trubisky (18.92, QB10) were good, too. For the season, we've had a QB1 (top-12) outing in eight of 12 weeks, and our per-week average of 17.1 fantasy points is good for the season-long QB13 in points per game among signal callers who have made at least five starts.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks owned in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo! leagues who are in good spots this week.

Nick Foles, Jaguars

Yahoo Ownership: 33%

Nick Foles has a great home matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay ranks third against the run, per our schedule-adjusted numbers, which has forced teams to go to the air to beat them, resulting in the Bucs giving up the second-most fantasy points per game (22.7) to quarterbacks.

Foles has attempted 47 and 48 passes in his two games since coming back from injury, though both of those outings ended up being very negative game scripts. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 1.5-point favorites this week, carrying a solid 25.0-point implied total.

This should be a bounce-back game for Jacksonville's passing attack, and we project Foles for 16.3 fantasy points, making him our QB13.

Kyle Allen, Panthers

Yahoo Ownership: 18%

Kyle Allen was trending in the wrong direction heading into last week's Superdome clash with the New Orleans Saints. He delivered a gem in that one, throwing three scores and finishing with 23.14 fantasy points.

Allen has a much softer matchup this week as the Carolina Panthers play host to Washington. The Panthers are massive 9.5-point favorites, and while that should lead to a heavy dose of Christian McCaffrey, Washington does boast the sixth-worst pass D, per our numbers. They're surrendering 17.3 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, slightly above the league average, and Allen, over his short career, has thrown 11 touchdowns over six wins while tossing just four scores across five defeats.

Our models aren't super high on Allen, projecting him for just 14.7 points, but he's got upside for more in this matchup.

Sam Darnold, Jets

Yahoo Ownership: 40%

Sam Darnold's dream schedule continues this week as he's on the road versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy has, per our metrics, the fourth-worst overall defense and the fifth-worst pass D. They've allowed 21.6 fantasy points per game to passers, the third-most in the league.

After flopping against the Miami Dolphins (13.5 fantasy points), Darnold has been on his game in dates with the New York Giants (21.70), Washington (26.42) and the Oakland Raiders (28.2) the past three weeks.

A 3.5-point road favorite, the New York Jets should find success on offense against the winless Bengals, and Darnold -- as he's shown -- is fully capable of taking advantage of the matchup. We peg him to score 15.65 fantasy points, ranking him as this week's QB19.
