3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 10

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Deshaun Watson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

We had another solid outing in Week 9 as Derek Carr totaled 19.56 fantasy points to rank as the week's QB12. That gives us a QB1 (top-12) finish in six of nine weeks this season, and our per-week average of 16.93 fantasy points is good for the season-long QB16.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks owned in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo! leagues who are in good spots this week.

Ryan Tannehill, Titans

Yahoo Ownership: 18%

Ryan Tannehill tops the streaming wishlist this week, which is heavy with byes, as the Tennessee Titans host the Kansas City Chiefs. KC is allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and Tannehill has posted outings of 19.18, 19.42 and 23.04 fantasy points in his three starts.

As of Tuesday, the expectation is that Patrick Mahomes will play in this game, which in turn raises Tannehill's stock as the Titans' offense should have to be more aggressive than usual to keep pace with Mahomes and company.

On a week without any smash streaming plays, Tannehill should offer a decent floor. We rank him as the week's QB14, projecting him for 15.35 points.

Sam Darnold, Jets

Yahoo Ownership: 25%

After Tannehill, things get scary.

Sam Darnold has been bad this year, but sometimes guys can struggle in real life and still put up respectable fantasy numbers. Darnold isn't an example of that as he's posted 19.62, -6.66, 12.62, and 12.50 fantasy points in four starts since recovering from injury.

If you can't take advantage of a matchup with the Miami Dolphins, there's not a ton of hope for you. With that said, there's just not many quality streaming options among quarterbacks owned in fewer than 30% of leagues, so here we are.

The matchup with the New York Giants is solid as the G-Men are giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. We have Darnold slotted as the QB18 this week, forecasting him to record 14.53 fantasy points.

Mitchell Trubisky, Bears

Yahoo Ownership: 21%

Speaking of struggling quarterbacks, no one is under more heat than Mitchell Trubisky.

He's really stunk in 2019, especially since coming back from a shoulder injury. In his first game back, he scored a garbage-time-fueled 20.04 fantasy points, but since then, he's put up 7.12 and 6.50 points. Yikes.

This week's home date with the Detroit Lions is a really soft spot, though, and given the lack of options, turning to Trubisky isn't a terrible idea. Our schedule-adjusted metrics have the Lions as the league's seventh-worst defense, and Trubisky has some running ability as he averaged 30.1 rushing yards per game in 2018.

We project Trubisky for 14.31 fantasy points, making him our QB19 for the week.
