Every week in DFS, there is a player who comes out of nowhere to be the slate-breaker. These seemingly incognito players can be game-changers if you manage to roster them during the right week.

Tournament-only fliers have plenty of appeal, offering low ownership, below value pricing, cheap stacking options, roster flexibility, and underrated ceilings. The purpose of this article is to identify dart throws to take your shots on during the main slate on FanDuel.

Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants

FanDuel Salary: $7,200

Chasing volume at the quarterback position is a wise proposition if you want to cash in in tournaments. The best way to guarantee an excess of pass attempts is to find high total games (check out our Heat Map), where the opponent forces the opposition into a frantic pace. I can think of no better target than the Arizona Cardinals, who rank first in seconds between plays and situation neutral pace.

The New York Giants and Daniel Jones are presented with an ideal game that will push the tempo of both offenses. Jones is reasonably priced considering the game has the 3rd highest over/under (50.5) and his team is slated for the 3rd largest implied team total.

The Cardinals rank 29th in pass DVOA. Passers facing Arizona over the past six games have finished inside the top 10 in QBR, passing yards, completion percentage, and rushing yards. The Giants will also welcome back Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram, which will aid Danny’s efficiency when distributing dimes.

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks

FanDuel Salary: $6,200

Will Dissly is down for the count in Seattle. His injury opens up 15% of the team's target share, including multiple red zone looks per game. With Dissly sidelined, D.K. Metcalf should see a bump in production -- specifically down the field.

With the reliable tight end out, much of the attention in ownership will pivot to fellow burner Tyler Lockett, but Metcalf is no slouch vertically down the field. The rookie has thrived as a deep threat, ranking ninth in average target distance and first in yards per reception.

Seattle is in a prime scoring spot, as the team sits at third in implied team totals against the Baltimore Ravens. Receivers have flourished against the Ravens over the past six games, finishing in the top-five in targets, receiving yards, yards after catch, and yards per reception. DK is primed for his rookie breakout game against a helpless, 23rd ranked DVOA, Baltimore secondary.

Duke Williams, WR, Buffalo Bills

FanDuel Salary: $4,700

The epitome of a dart throw, former CFL receiver Duke Williams finds himself in a favorable position to out-produce his anemic $4,700 price tag. If your wondering, Duke plays for the Buffalo Bills who happen to have the second highest implied team total of the week, at 28.

Prior to Week 5, Buffalo traded starting receiver Zay Jones to the Oakland Raiders, opening a spot for the recent practice squad call up to suit up on Sundays. Instead of riding the pine, Duke saw 51 snaps against the Titans, resulting in a modest debut line of 4 catches, 29 yards, and a touchdown.

Williams will now get the distinct pleasure of lining up against a Miami Dolphins defense that ranks dead last in pass DVOA. Aside from the dream matchup and strong team total, the undrafted wideout is a true salary saver that will garner microscopic ownership.

Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills

FanDuel Salary: $5,700

DFS doesn’t always have to be difficult, and when in doubt, picking someone going against Miami makes the decisions all that much easier. The Bills are coming off a bye, have the highest implied team total, and rank in the top 10 in rush plays per game. Devin Singletary is the 21st most expensive back, yet the Miami Dolphins have allowed the most rush yards, attempts, and the second-most points to the position.

Singletary will see a positive games script, low ownership because of his recent injury, and plenty of scoring opportunities due to a high total. The rookie is a perfect means of alleviating salary to spend on more coveted players.

Delanie Walker, TE, Tennessee Titans

FanDuel Salary: $5,200

With Marcus Mariota getting shelved in favor of backup Ryan Tannehill, the general public will be completely off of Delanie Walker. The veteran tight end ranks eight in targets and fifth in touchdowns at the position. He finds himself in a decent matchup against a Los Angeles Chargers pass defense that ranks 25th in DVOA.

Although the Tennessee Titans do not have an enviable implied team total, Walker is the 12th-most expensive tight end on the slate, but is projected for the eight-most points. Tannehill's conservative style of play -- 6.2 yards per attempt in 2018 -- should lead to more targets in the short middle of the field, where Walker has thrived.
