FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 12

Nick Mullens may be short on experience, but at his low salary is he worth rolling out against a porous Bucs defense in Week 12?

Between Thanksgiving stealing away two extra games on Thursday and both the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs being off on their bye weeks, this week's 10-game main slate isn't showing as many high over/unders as we've grown accustomed to lately, with just two games exceeding the 50-point mark. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers combine for this week's highest at 54.5 points, while the Indianapolis Colts are expected to throttle the Miami Dolphins as 7.5-point home favorites with a slate-best 29.25 implied total.

We'll dig into those games and more in our weekly FanDuel primer, where we give you an overview of the Sunday main slate to help you get started on your research. As always, we recommend checking out all of numberFire's premium tools at your disposal. In particular, the heat map is a great way to get a general overview of the slate's implied totals, and every team's strengths and weaknesses. You also have access to numberFire's weekly projections, which can assist you in nailing down who might be the slate's top scorers and best values.

Be sure to also pay attention to inactives prior to Sunday's games, which can often completely change the makeup of a given slate. After all, injuries can have a huge impact on playing time, where an otherwise low-priced backup can suddenly find his way into a feature role and become an excellent play.

Now, let's run through some of this week's top plays on the FanDuel main slate.

Quarterbacks

Andrew Luck ($8,400 on FanDuel): Andrew Luck has now thrown three or more touchdowns in seven straight games, and his 29 passing touchdowns sits second behind only Patrick Mahomes for the season. With the Colts showing the highest implied total on the board (29.25), it's fair to say Luck has a pretty good shot of keeping that streak going at home against the Dolphins. Miami ranks 28th in yards allowed per pass attempt (8.1) and is the 27th-ranked passing defense by numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics. Not surprisingly, during Luck's impressive touchdown streak, he hasn't dropped below 22 FanDuel points in all seven games.
